In January 2026, CHINT ANNENG took an important step in advancing its global strategy and strengthening its presence in the African market. From 18–24 January 2026, CHINT ANNENG, together with its core domestic partner team, conducted a dedicated photovoltaic market research initiative across rural Kenya to gain first-hand insights into local energy needs in NAIROBI, Kenya, followed by the signing of a cooperation intent agreement with CHINT PVSTAR in Nairobi on 24 January, contributing practical Chinese green energy solutions to Kenya’s ongoing energy transition.
On-the-Ground Research, Precisely Aligned with Local Needs
During the week-long visit, CHINT ANNENG's partner team travelled to key rural areas, including Kisumu, Migori, and Kakamega. By visiting households and small businesses, they gained firsthand insight into local energy challenges. There is strong demand in these communities for reliable, cost-effective, clean off-grid solar solutions, particularly small-scale DC systems, to directly address power supply instability and limited grid coverage."This immersion into Kenya's rural communities allowed us to witness the pressing need for dependable energy and the immense potential of the solar market in Africa," shared one of CHINT ANNENG's partners. "Kenya's solar resources are a natural advantage. Combined with CHINT ANNENG's core technology and comprehensive service, we have the key to addressing local energy challenges—turning market potential into tangible social impact."
Informed by these on-the-ground insights, CHINT PVSTAR - Africa formalised a collaborative agreement in Nairobi on 24 January with a group of CHINT ANNENG's international partners. This agreement is founded on a shared commitment to leverage combined resources. Collaboration will span product supply, technical training, and localised services to promote the adoption of solar systems in Kenya's rural and remote areas, making green energy accessible to more communities.
A partner representative noted, "We are confident in this collaboration with CHINT ANNENG - PVSTAR. The company's strong brand, integrated supply chain, mature technical solutions, and comprehensive channel support provide a solid foundation for market development. We look forward to working closely to serve the local market, ensuring effective product implementation and service delivery, and jointly contributing to a new energy landscape in Africa."
Moving forward, CHINT ANNENG, the parent company of CHINT PVSTAR, will continue to dedicate resources, drawing on the CHINT Group's full-industry chain advantages to deliver customised solar and energy storage solutions, deepen partner collaboration, and support Kenya’s energy transition across East Africa.
