CHINT Group — parent group of CHINT ANNENG & CHINT PVSTAR — has once again been honored as a leader in ESG excellence, securing a spot on the Bloomberg Green • The Watchlist 2026 for the second consecutive year. This recognition underscores CHINT’s long-term commitment to sustainability and its strong performance across environmental, social, and governance practices.
On November 27, the award ceremony was held at the MGM Hotel in Shanghai’s West Bund. Luan Guangfu, President of CHINT Group, attended the event and participated in an exclusive interview with Bloomberg Green, where he shared insights into the company’s innovative sustainable-development strategies.
This year’s ceremony—one of the most influential gatherings in the ESG and sustainability fields—introduced new categories such as the “Green Finance List” and “ESG Potential Enterprises,” expanding upon existing honors including “ESG Leading Enterprises,” “Outstanding ESG Projects,” and “Innovative Support Organizations.” The event brought together global business leaders, investors, and industry partners to explore business models aligned with China’s “dual carbon” goals of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality.

CHINT's Global Impact in Clean Energy and Sustainability

Since its founding in 1984, CHINT has built a fully integrated energy ecosystem that covers the entire power value chain—from generation to consumption. With its investments in clean energy sources like solar, wind, and biomass, CHINT has played a key role in supporting global efforts to reduce carbon emissions. "Today, we’ve launched our 'CHINT Group 2030 Sustainable Development Strategy,' and through our '15th Five-Year ESG Strategy,' we aim to further strengthen our sustainability initiatives and continue leading the way in the zero-carbon era," said Luan Guangfu.

CHINT has already developed more than 800 wind and solar power stations worldwide, serving over 1.8 million residential solar users, and providing more than 79.2 billion kWh of green electricity annually—cutting over 65 million tons of CO2 emissions each year. The company’s subsidiaries, CHINT Electric and CHINT New Energy, have applied for membership in the Science-Based Targets initiative (SBTi) with a baseline year of 2024. Additionally, CHINT has implemented an energy efficiency management platform across its facilities to monitor energy use and carbon emissions. Over the past three years, the company has invested more than 500 million yuan in energy-saving upgrades.

In 2025, CHINT’s five major manufacturing parks were awarded dual certifications for "Organizational Carbon Neutrality" and "Zero-Carbon Factory," reducing carbon emissions by approximately 67,000 tons. These efforts represent the company’s ongoing commitment to reducing emissions and providing a practical, scalable model for the global green energy transition.

CHINT's Path to Carbon Neutrality and Net-Zero Emissions

CHINT is accelerating its roadmap toward carbon neutrality, net-zero emissions, and full value-chain decarbonization, setting some of the most ambitious climate goals in the global energy industry. The company aims to achieve carbon neutrality in operations by 2028, reach net-zero emissions by 2035, and realize full value-chain net-zero emissions by 2050—a strategic response to rising “green barriers” in global markets.

To reach these targets, CHINT has built a comprehensive carbon management system spanning goals, operations, manufacturing, and product lifecycles. Luan Guangfu emphasized:

“We will continue to advance our digital carbon management platform, further calculating product carbon footprints and obtaining Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certifications. We are also strengthening our compliance with global standards like EcoVadis and CDP, helping us meet market requirements such as the EU’s Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism (CBAM).”

As a leading enterprise in its supply chain, CHINT has integrated sustainable procurement into its core 2030 strategy. The company aims for 85% of suppliers to join sustainable procurement, 90% of key suppliers to pass sustainability assessments, and all main suppliers to commit to carbon-reduction targets by 2030.
With more than four decades of innovation, CHINT has turned sustainability from a concept into a mature business practice. As the global energy transition accelerates, CHINT is evolving from “selling energy” to building integrated ecosystems. Looking ahead, CHINT will continue to collaborate with partners worldwide to create an open, mutually beneficial energy system—moving together toward a smarter and more sustainable future.
