To address one of the country’s major sandstorm issues in Minqin, Gansu Province, China — which has left millions of lives particularly vulnerable — CHINT ANNENG, the flagship subsidiary of global energy giant CHINT and parent company of CHINT PVSTAR, deployed its “One Kilowatt Hour” charity fund to tackle the biggest challenge: the lack of reliable power for reforestation and desertification efforts. By providing solar energy and bringing together volunteers from across China, CHINT ANNENG is transforming this barren land and delivering hope through clean energy.
Solar Power for Desert Reforestation

At the reforestation base in Minqin, CHINT ANNENG installed solar systems on shipping containers to harness the region’s abundant sunlight and deliver clean electricity. Generating about 1,500 kilowatt-hours each month, the systems store excess energy for night use, ensuring a continuous and reliable supply. Specially reinforced with wind-resistant brackets to withstand frequent sandstorms, the equipment is built for long-term stability. Designed as an integrated containerized solution, the systems can move with the base as needed — providing not only green power for reforestation, but also demonstrating CHINT ANNENG’s commitment to social responsibility and to supporting communities on the frontlines of environmental challenges.

In addition to powering reforestation efforts, the solar storage systems have greatly improved volunteers’ daily lives. Once reliant on unstable temporary power, they now benefit from a continuous and reliable supply directly from containerized units. With access to lighting, communications, and essential appliances, their comfort and efficiency have been significantly enhanced — reflecting CHINT ANNENG’s commitment not only to environmental restoration, but also to the well-being of those dedicating themselves to this vital cause.
